The information stage – we all know it. You get an idea and head straight to the Internet to load up on knowledge. How to start, how to speed up, how to make it last. It’s a great time for motivation, no doubt. But as time goes on, analysis paralysis sets in – and that’s a sticky thing to get out of.
Analysis paralysis is what happens when you can’t make a decision. It’s thinking, thinking, thinking, and no action.
It’s one of the most frustrating stages to be in because you know you have what it takes. There’s just a little nervous voice inside you, whispering about what ifs that keep you from beginning.
So here’s how to defeat it:
You’re going to start today.
Simple.

Analysis Paralysis is the Death of Momentum. Save Yours by Jumping In!
Have you ever done tire flips? The hardest part is getting the tire off the ground. Once you find your rhythm, it’s smooth sailing!
Analysis paralysis is like trying to flip a tire made of steel. The information overload and the anxiety from opening a million doors will keep you from ever starting!
Yes, learning is exciting at first. The adrenaline pumps through your body as you get high on the I’m going after my dreams juice. It’s a great feeling, and doing your due diligence is a good sign of success. But be careful – know when to start learning and starttr doing.
One day you will come across a piece of information that makes you falter. It’ll be one of those things that make you think hm… that seems important to know. You’ll start researching, and before you know it you’ll find an entire text book worth of material that says in bold letters read this before you begin!
That’s how days become months. Time goes by until you look up and realize 5 years have passed, but you’re still no closer to your goal.

Save your youth. Don’t go for the heavy tire! If God didn’t need Moses to take speech classes before He sent him to pharaoh, you don’t need to know all the tips and tricks.
START now! Get your momentum going!
Knowledge will come later.
Don’t Listen to Analysis Paralysis. You Already Have the Skills You Need!
What’s your idea? Chances are it came from a time when you tried something casually – and it worked.
My thing was a mini blog I had to make for a final project back in 2020. I had completely forgotten this last class and panic overtook me! So in 10 hours I made an entire website, complete with a home page, blog posts, an about page and a page for donations. I had no idea that I possessed a talent for web design, but there it was.

Analysis paralysis will convince you that you need to spend hours becoming the best. It will also make you compare yourself to others.
Don’t do that. The people you’re observing have been doing their thing for a long time!
Instead, dive in! Here’s a secret bit of neuroscience for you: creative skills develop while we process our emotions. So use that nervousness as rocket fuel! The more you do, the more you’ll grow.
You’ll Learn the Rules As You Go
Don’t worry about the guidelines!
There are some people who like to learn the right way of doing things before they begin. They’ll learn how to shade before starting a drawing. They’ll learn how to metalwork before they ever make a piece of jewelry.
But that is analysis paralysis in its most insidious form: perfectionism. Nothing will kill your passion like learning how to be perfect before you even make a first attempt.
You might feel like a bit of practice is good before you really start. I am here to tell you that there is no such thing as really starting. You could mean to be serious about your business this time around, get an SBA loan, the whole deal. Only for it to fail because a person you trusted was stealing.
You could be like me, and relaunch your blog with full intentions of impacting the world… only to be received like a pebble dropped in the ocean.
There’s no telling what will happen when you begin. But one thing is for certain: someone out there needs your raw, crude, unrefined talent.

There’s a child prodigy who I saw on America’s Got Talent once. He has a beautiful operatic voice and came to compete even though he’d never had professional training.
He believed in himself enough to give it a try, and though he didn’t win, he moved Simon Cowell to tears. If you’ve ever heard of Simon Cowell, you know that’s a guy who is not easily impressed. But that kid touched his heart.
The same boy has since been professionally trained, allowing his gift to grow the right way.
Jump in now. The person you’re looking for is looking for you too!
Final Thoughts
I know that analysis paralysis comes with anxiety and fear. You’re not wrong – the risk is real. But what’s realer is being stuck in the same place your whole life.
Breathe. Relax. Buy a Joy Journal to help yourself to focus on the positive what ifs.
And when the time comes, leap. You can do it.
I love you!
