In Barcelona, romance and city are one. It’s full of places to spend time together, whether you’re with your loved one or the Lord.
If you like walks on the beach, historic towns, and slow evenings, this article is for you. Here are three romantic places for a beautiful day in La Ciudad Condal.

Rambla de Catalunya at Sunset
Rambla de Catalunya is a major street in Barcelona’s business district, located just a block away from fashion forward Passeig de Gracia. It’s beautiful, humble, and lined with chic restaurants and more. Off in the distance, the Temple of the Sacred Heart of Jesus looks out over the city.
Eat, friends, and drink; drink your fill of love.
Song of Songs 5:1, NIV
This street is one of my favorites for tapas (Spanish appetizers), dinner, and desserts (I recommend one of the many gelaterias). Between the jazz drifting out from the local shops and the radiant glow of the setting sun, this scene is timeless. You and your loved one will enjoy every bit of your time on this street.

Roam Through the Gothic Quarter
The next place is for lovers of history.
The Gothic Quarter, Barcelona’s famous historic city center, is known for its stunning network of neo-gothic alleyways and plazas. If string lights, street lanterns and the middle ages are your thing, you’ll love this part of town.

Visit the art galleries on Carrer de la Palla to enjoy antique works, then follow the road to the plaza where music echoes off of the city’s Roman walls. End the day at Lamaro Hotel’s rooftop restaurant for grand views of the Barcelona Cathedral.
A Romantic Day at Platja de la Ribera
Finally is Sitges, a beautiful coastal town just outside of Barcelona, and a favorite destination of mine. Here, seagulls soar, palm trees sway, and a day of relaxation awaits.
To get there, I recommend taking the train over a bus or renting a car. The train travels along the rock cliffs above the coast, giving you breathtaking views of the Mediterranean.
Once you arrive, satisfy your sweet tooth at one of the many dulcerias on Carrer de les Parellades (or my favorite, La Goulue, located just around the corner). Then, head to Platja de la Ribera for tapas, dinner, and biking on the shining promenade.
