There’s nothing more beautiful than meeting our Creator.
It may seem like there’s a one in a million chance of it happening, but the truth is that God is pleased to answer our prayers, and He speaks more often than we think.
Here’s my testimony.

How I Met God
Honesty time: I didn’t think I’d ever have a meeting with God. It always seemed like an event for ancient times, like the burning bush. (Exodus 3:2)
Before, God’s voice would come to me as a whisper; or if He was dropping a revelation in my spirit, like a lightbulb moment. The one constant was that it was always a calm experience.
When my overthinking became too much, I restarted therapy, and my therapist gave me a meditation that changed my life.
The key was to empty my mind and write down the first thing that came to me. No chants, no affirmations. Just pen, paper and silence.

The Revelation
After that appointment, I grabbed my journal, got comfortable in my room, turned the timer on, and started writing. In a few seconds, I became aware of a presence.
Now I didn’t know what it was. But the presence wasn’t scary or unsettling; it only seemed to hang out.
And It had answers.
As I wrote my first questions (what, who, and why), a tingling sensation began. It started in my head and spread down to the tips of my toes. It was pleasant and light, and I started to feel like something—Someone was filling me. That Someone was full of joy.
Quickly, more people appeared. More came in, and more, until the next thing I knew, something like 20,000 beings were swirling around inside of me, dancing and rejoicing.
It was like I had been away for years and just returned home.

I became a spectator in my body, observing as Someone who felt like a male took control of my body and started writing.
I couldn’t think, I couldn’t speak. All I knew was that I was happy, and that these beautiful people loved me and wanted to talk to me.
When I looked down, I saw my hand writing a message about Jesus. “He sent His son for you. Enjoy! The sacrifice was for ALL.” Encouragement filled the page, a message to love one another and live in joy.
And when I finally found the strength to ask “Who are You?” my hand wrote “I am I am.”
The Effect
Our interaction was 7 minutes long, and it changed me forever.
Everyone left by swirling up out of my body and back into Heaven. As they left, I felt as light as a feather.
I went for a walk immediately, and what I saw sealed the change within me. Colors were brighter, people were happier. I was full of joy—and over time it became my permanent disposition.
I’ve never missed who I used to be for a moment.
Life Up to that Point
Things Were Coming Together
In the prior months to our meeting, my life had begun to change. I saw the hand of God working in things I couldn’t control, like getting into school and finding a new home. And it started with taking a leap of faith.
More Time with God
My time with God had also started changing—before I thought about being intentional with it. I was enjoying slow mornings and walking, clearing my mind and making room for Him.
I found myself in greater need of Him, wondering what He’d planned for me. Over time God started to feel less like He was in the sky, and more like He was right beside me.

How to Meet God
Everyone has their own appointed time; remember that we’re on His schedule, not the other way around! These are the things I was doing in the months leading up to Our conversation. Follow them and you’ll get closer to the Lord!
- Be Obedient. The Word of God is our guide and His reward is with Him. Getting closer to God means building faith, and that faith is built when you follow His Instructions!
- Set Time Aside for Him. Sitting quietly and focusing on feeling His Presence is enough. Try to be consistent! The more time you spend with Him, the easier it will be to hear God when He calls.
- Be Like Jesus in Your Everyday Life. Make “What would Jesus do?” your go-to phrase in all situations. The more we act like Jesus, the more we become like Jesus, and that includes experiencing His spiritual blessings—like speaking with God! (Ephesians 1:3)
- Add Journaling to Your Routine. If you have questions about your emotions or purpose, write them down and ask God for wisdom. If something is coming up, the Holy Spirit is reaching out!
- Enjoy Your Life. Remember to have fun! God is full of joy, laughter, and love. When you focus on love, you focus on Him!
Final Notes
God is so good. He loves every one of us and wants a relationship with us. And Jesus said that we would do even greater signs and wonders than He did, which means that miraculous one-on-ones with the Almighty is right in our wheelhouse.
I’m so grateful to share this testimony with you! I pray that God visits you soon, and when He does, gives you all the answers you’ve been looking for.
May the Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.
Numbers 6:24-26, NIV
